SiC Epitaxial Service

Coherent Corporation

Coherent (formerly Ascatron) offers high-quality SiC epitaxial growth services for both n-type and p-type layers, with doping concentrations ranging from low to high. Whether for specialized R&D needs or mass production requirements, they can accommodate a wide range of specifications.
With years of experience and proprietary technology, Coherent is able to flexibly support complex and custom specifications — delivering optimal solutions tailored to customer requirements.
There are numerous cases where they have successfully met challenging specifications that were rejected by other manufacturers.

II-VI Kista AB (Sweden, Coherent Group)
This specialized SiC fab handles the entire process from epitaxy to device design and packaging. Founded in 2011, it is based on a team that has been involved in SiC R&D at Sweden's national research institute ACREO since 1993. It offers proprietary know-how and technologies such as 3D SiC epitaxial structures, device design and process technologies developed through extensive experience.
It became part of Coherent following its acquisition by II-VI in 2020.

Puxiang Electronics

In 2024, Ceramic Forum began handling SiC epi wafers from Puxiang Electronics (China).
Both n-type and p-type epitaxial growth is supported.
Although still at the sample stage in June 2023, they successfully performed epitaxial growth on 8-inch SiC wafers. It has been announced that the epi layer thickness and doping uniformity are equivalent to the quality of 6-inch SiC epi wafers.

Puxing Electronics Corporation (China)
Established in 2000, the company specializes in R&D and production of high-performance epitaxial wafers.
The company has been conducting SiC R&D since 2016, before the company was established, and achieved mass production of 6-inch epitaxial wafers in 2019.
The company will add a new factory in 2022 and is currently expanding in China as the first company in China to be certified with the TS16949 quality control standard.
